I learned to deepen my study of the Word by picking up on literary devices in the text. It’s been a while since I took a literature class—and I wasn’t always paying attention—so I thought it was time to refresh my mind on what literary devices actually exist. These posts cover go over the basics of each literary device and then provide example of it in use in the Bible.
The book ofDaniel
Daniel is one of the most well known prophets of the Bible. He was taken captive by the Babylonians at a young age and subsequently provided the king a Babylon with both divine interpretations of dreams, as well as, powerful displays of faith. This is one of my favorite books of the Bible and next up in my Books of the Bible study.

<aside> 🙏🏽 PSALMS to God is a blog, podcast, and YouTube channel that grew from my love of journaling and discusses many topics and issues, always keeping YHWH as the anchor. Hosea 4:6 says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”—here, the aim is to always ask questions and study to find the answers.
